My name is Gayle and I would like to tell you about a "New Project" I'm starting.

Have you ever had to use the local foodbank for yourself or your family before?
Well I have and I know lots of people who do. I also know lots of these people have pets.

It can be very hard to feed your pets when you are on a fixed income or in some cases no income at all!

I've been in the position of having to choose between eating myself or feeding my pet. I would opt for pasta and sauce..cheap and we could both eat that day.
I know not everyone would not do that of course.

Sometimes people have given up there furry loved ones because they can't feed them properly.
This is sad indeed!
For many people their pets are all the companionship they really have.

I heard about a lady doing something  in the states for the pets of people hit by natural disasters.
I think it is a Fabulous Idea and I don't know why nobody started this before.
 I've been looking for a way I can help animals on a larger scale.
 I've always helped when I could by taking in strays and unwanted dogs, cats, horses, ducks you name it at one time or another I probably had it.

So here's the plan....
I am settting up and runnnig a Pet Food Bank similar to the way it is done for people.
I have an online pet supply and apparel store and I am donating a portion of all sales to the Furkids Food bank.

I will need donations of all kinds...food, treats, litter & of course money.
I will also be looking for Volunteers to set up a Pet Food Bank in conjunction with ours in their area. We will assist all the way.

Cash donations will be used for items such as: Specialty foods required by some animals, buying pet food, starting food depots in other areas and much more.

I would like to include a Christmas Basket program for Pets starting in October. Donations of toys in addition to food would be greatly appreciated.

Eventually I would like to help peple get their pet spayed or nutered by paying a portion or in some cases all of the medical expences.

I'm going to start with dogs and cats and add new anmals as  the need arrises.
I would greatly appreciate any advise or tips on how to best accomplish this.
